How to Make Your Hair Curly?

If you look at today’s magazines, you will find it difficult to ignore the fact that curls are in. But however sensual and feminine curls may be, they can also be a nightmare. Because curly hair is the most difficult type of hair to style. Curls are temperamental, they tend to be dry and their shape is often inconsistent. On the other hand they are also elastic, which means they naturally bounce back. What curls really need is good hydration to give (dry) curls back their shine and softness.

Curling irons, hot or cold rollers also make your hair curly.

  • Curls can add an alluring bounce or subtle glamour to your hair. Whether you're after a flip of the ends or a tight corkscrew look, a curling iron is one of your most important tools.
  • Cold rollers are the old-fashioned rollers your mom or grandma might already have or that you can buy at the store. You roll your hair around them and it gives your hair some curl. In the old days, a lot of women slept in curlers so their hair would be beautiful in the morning.

A few key tips for make your hair curly:

  • Do not shampoo every day because it will dry out curly cuticles even more. If necessary, you can rinse your hair in the shower and condition.
Avoid heat styling. If you have to dry your hair, make sure you use a diffuser on your dryer and dry only the roots. The more heat you apply to the hair shaft, the drier it will get.
  • Don't brush curly hair. It disrupts the natural shape of curls and snaps hair shafts, creating frizz.
  • Do not pull frizzy hair back too tightly. Every time you pull your hair back into a tight ponytail or bun, the pressure breaks hair shafts all along your hairline. The short remnants of broken hair pop up as frizz.
  • Avoid bleach. Bleach dries out hair. If you want to go lighter, ask your colorist about using a non-bleach color on your hair.
